My unit is deciding to have practices for both drill teams during the summer; starting the first week of August.
I was wondering if any one else did summer practices?
If so when and how long?

This topic has already been addressed elsewhere....but to answer your question, it's very difficult to correlate a practice schedule over the summer, because people have things to do and trips and such, but since you're planning on doing it in August, you may have a shot. Every unit is different...

We have practice during August three times a week till school starts again. And its from 1600-1800

My unit has practices starting first week of august, Monday through Thursday from 1200-1400(susceptible to change on a day-to-day basis)

it's worked for the past few years, just make sure you give plenty of notice (preferably before end of school) and no longer than a few hours. Don't expect perfect attendance either, but make sure your commander is informed of any vacations etc.

My unit never practiced in the summer, but if we had, we might have been better. However, it would only work if your new NS1's knew about it, too, so that you could practice with everyone there and not have to switch it all up when school started.
